Airport South is its own travel environment
YVR describes Airport South as including the South Terminal Building and the public Floatplane Facility on the Fraser River. It is used by regional and coastal airlines, floatplanes, helicopter operators, corporate charters and other aviation services.
Main-terminal connections need transfer time
YVR operates a courtesy shuttle between the International, Domestic, South Terminal and Floatplane Dock stops. Passengers connecting between a main-terminal flight and Airport South should plan for the transfer rather than treating the terminals as one building.
Private aviation ground transport requires precise instructions
For corporate charter or private aviation pickups, give the transportation company the operator or terminal name, expected arrival time, passenger count and luggage profile. If a private car is meeting several passengers, confirm whether the aircraft operator has a preferred pickup location.
Airport South is a different operating environment
Travellers should not assume that a pickup described simply as “YVR” will automatically be understood as Airport South. Regional aviation, charter movements and other operations can use facilities separate from the main domestic and international terminals. Give the operator the exact facility, airline or charter company, flight information and passenger contact details.
Private aviation requires tighter coordination
Charter and corporate aviation schedules can change at short notice. The transportation provider should know which fixed-base operator or terminal is involved and who will confirm when passengers are ready. For executive groups, it is also useful to decide in advance whether vehicles are moving everyone to one destination or whether passengers will divide into separate cars after arrival.
Plan luggage and equipment before assigning cars
Private aviation passengers may travel with more specialized baggage than a typical scheduled-airline traveller. Golf equipment, skis, presentation cases and multiple checked bags can materially change the vehicle requirement. The aircraft passenger count alone is not enough to select a suitable ground vehicle.
